Traineeship at CEDEFOP next deadline: 2005-11-30

CEDEFOP, the European Centre for the Development of Vocational
Training, offers two six-month periods of in-service training
(stages) for young university graduates and public service
employees. Trainees are selected from nationals of the EU Member
States of the European Union. However a limited number of nationals
from non-member countries may be accepted. The training periods
involve work experience in one of the departments of CEDEFOP and run
from 1 March and 1 September each year.

Work carried out by the trainees would be equivalent to that given
to junior executive-grade officials e.g. writing minutes of
meetings, research on a particular topic, assist the supervisor or
the head of unit in his/ her activities. The Translation Service of
CEDEFOP also offers the possibility for in-service training.
Trainees applying for a placement in the Translation Service go
through the same selection procedures. The age limit for trainees is
      thirty. However, the joint
committee of CEDEFOP may make exceptions to this age limit at the
applicant's request. A cover letter should then be submitted with
      the
      application form.

Most trainees are paid a grant and in some cases travel expenses are
reimbursed. In order to facilitate equal participation, disabled
trainees may receive a supplement of 50% of the basic grant. The
objective of this extra payment is to help disabled trainees to
      cover
extra expenses such as transport, the cost of special accommodation
etc. which might be required due to their disability.

      The deadline for applications:
30 November (of preceding year) for the March training period
31 May for the September training period

The application form can be downloaded from the following web
      address: http://www.cedefop.eu.int/stages.asp
