      DIRECTOR OF SEATTLE BARBERSHOP CHORUS
TO COMPETE IN INTERNATIONAL QUARTET CONTEST

Ted C. Chamberlain, the director of the Seattle SeaChordsmen Barbershop Chorus, will compete as a member of his quartet "4.0" (Four-Point-Oh) in the Barbershop Harmony Society International Quartet Contest in Toronto, in July.

Ted's quartet previously won a series of awards in regional competitions, including: 2012 Evergreen District Novice Quartet Champions and first place in the Evergreen District
International Preliminary Contest in April 2013. The quartet was invited to participate as a "wildcard" entry in the International Quartet Contest, where they will face competition
with the best Barbershop quartets from around the world. For more information, visit their web site at 4.0quartet.com.
The SeaChordsmen hired Ted in March 2013. In just two short months, he has brought a new level of expertise and professionalism to the chorus, adding new members and revitalizing the rehearsal process. On May 4, Ted led the chorus to the Evergreen District
contest in Federal Way, where they sang to an enthusiastic audience and received positive evaluations from the official judges for their entertaining performance.

Ted began directing barbershop choruses in 1987. He has been a public-school choir and orchestra teacher since 1988 and is currently teaching about half time in the Kent School
District in addition to teaching private voice lessons. He has degrees in both Vocal Performance and K-12 Music Education and earned National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification in choral music in 2005.

The Seattle SeaChordsmen were founded in 1949 and currently have 25 active singers onthe risers. The chorus will present its summer show "Groovy," featuring music of the 1960s and 1970s, on Saturday, June 29, at the Shorecrest Performing Arts Center in
Shoreline. For tickets and more information visit www.SeaChordsmen.org. TheSeaChordsmen rehearse every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Queen Anne Baptist Church,
2011 1st Ave N. Visitors and new members are welcome!
