Couldn't make last night's game. But the small detail of not actually being
present at a particular event has never prevented me from giving a detailed
eyewitness account. And I would not hesitate to do so this morning if I didn't
have to rush off to an old neighbor's funeral; Tommy McNulty's Mom. They
lived across the street from the childhood house and Tom was one of the first
people I played street hockey with. As he was 3 years younger than me, he was
also the first kid I could beat up.

I had the pleasure of borrowing Jerry's spare cup (man that is dedication -- I have a spare stick, but a spare cup???) and Karl's spare shorts.  I never felt so fast in my skates... or so manly!  If Viagra or Cialis are not getting the job done for y'all I highly recommend Jerry's cup.  Maybe that's what we should name our championship game.  Thanks guys!

On a side note, maybe at the end of the summer (Sept or Oct) we should host our own mini-tournament?  If we could get good turnout we could have a 4v4 round robin tournament, which means each team would mean 6 20 or 30-minute games (each team would play 3 games).  Just a thought, might be a fun way to wrap up the summer, though we probably don't need the increased intensity.  Jerry's cup.

        Cheers, -Chris

The Wednesday evening games are over for the season but we continue to play
on Saturday mornings at 10:30 AM at NE 95th St. & 5 Ave NE (near Northgate).

The OVERT Board of Directors has authorized me to announce the pending merger
of OVERT with the Highland Ice Arena Sunday night pick-up ice hockey game
which has been going for about as long as the OVERT Game. This is also a co-ed,
            no-check, no-lift-the-puck, everybody-takes-a-turn-at-goal game which has been
going for about as long as the OVERT game. But it costs money: $10-$15 per 1
hr game, depending on the number of players, and everyone gets equal ice time
(they use a whistle every three minutes). I have played in this game for
many years and have always had a good time. See Julie's statement below for
            details.

            SUNDAY NIGHT HOCKEY!
Yes, it's that time once again to air out the gear bags, get the rust off the
blades and join us for Sunday night hockey! Starting this Sunday, October
1st at 7:30pm. We skate on the small ice at Highland Ice Arena. We will skate
every Sunday until the Stanley Cup is lifted, please stay tuned to emails for
            any changes or additional skates.

If you would like to pass this on to other players that would enjoy our
atmosphere, please feel free. And if you want off the list or know about a change
of email addresses, just let me know.
            Thanks and see you Sunday!
            Julie
