Announcing a new resource for Church Choirs worldwide:

The ROCM (Russian Orthodox Church Musicians') web site has just opened a
new section that contains Church Music available for downloading and
      printing at your home computer.

This portion of the ROCM site was put together by The Synod Cathedral Choir
Director Alexander B. Ledkovsky and myself.

It is still in its infancy, but more music will be added all the time.

The files for downloading are all in PDF format. All you need to do is to
download the Adobe Acrobat Reader (v. 4.0), which is available free at
      Adobe's web site.

Of particular interest are the Troparia and Kontakia for the Menaion
(selected dates in August and September are now available), which allow
choir directors to prepare for each Sunday's or Feast Day's Vigil and
Liturgy with the Troparia and Kontakia already set to music.

For major works by composers, not only are the scores online, but also the
four parts, separately, which makes it much easier for the choir, as not
all singers are able to sing comfortably from a four-part score.

Special care has been taken to ensure that the scores of these composed
works correspond to the true original published texts.

The service is provided free of charge by the ROCM, but donations for the
      massive effort are always appreciated.

Comments and suggestions are welcome, as well.

Go to http://www.rocm.org and click on the "Free Music Scores" Button.

      With love in Christ,

      Prot. Alexander Lebedeff
