Kosovo & Metohija In The Focus

Fr. Sava: KFOR, Milosevic and KLA
are Responsible for Serbian Tragedy in Kosovo and Metohija

KRAGUJEVAC, 1. September - Fr. Sava of Decani Monastery said yesterday, for the local TV station in the mid Serbia's city Kragujevac, that for the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija  the best solution is the Cantonization of the province, the process that would include "change of the borders of the municipalities". That process should gather those areas where Serbs live concentrated, in order to be protected from further violence and terror of extremist ethnic Albanians.
Fr. Sava, usually named as spokesman of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and Metohija, said that "the repression of one non democratic regime (Milosevic's regime-note SYPS) is changed by an new repression leaded by so called Kosovo Liberation Army, different gangs and mafia coming from Albania producing terror over whole Kosovo".
Belgrade regime is a big obstacle for the peace in Kosovo and Metohija, he stated accusing Milosevic and his followers that they still trying to make political profit from out of suffering of Serbian people from Kosovo and Metohija.
"Albanian militants are building their political prestige on the bases of nondemocratic regime in Serbia"- said Fr. Sava of Decani. According to him the Milosevic's regime made real humanitarian disaster few months ago when ethnic Albanians were exiled, and since the exponents of the same policy are still in the power in Serbia "the present sufferings of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija is hardly noticed in the world."
Explaining the positions of the Church-People Council of Kosovo and Metohija, only representative body of the local Serbs leaded by Bishop Artemije and Mr. Momcilo Trajkovic, Fr. Sava said that "only change of the Belgrade regime and creation of the real Serbian state could help positive development to the situation concerning Serbs in Kosovo and Serbian Kosovo." That change would bring needed change on ethnic Albanian side as well, believes Fr. Sava.
If Milosevic's regime continue to reign over Serbia, the process of disintegration in the region of former Yugoslavia will not be stopped, and Kosovo and Metohija will be lost not only for Serbia but for Serbs as well, conclude fr. Sava.
A few days ago Fr. Sava gave an interview to the Church run radio Svetigora saying that KFOR and UNMIK failed to fulfill their job in Kosovo and Metohija. On the contrary of the resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council, they didn't stop ethnical cleansing of non-Albanian population in the province. Fr. Sava characterized situation in Kosovo and Metohija as chaotic, out of any order able to stop violence.
