      Of course, the distinction between the *form* of Ordination,
      and the *Grace* of Ordination (or any other Mystery for that matter),
      must be maintained with regard to heretics and schismatics--and
      Fr. Alexander's sources clearly do make this distinction. Often, people
      assume that to say so-and-so "has Apostolic Succession," is the same
      as saying that they have the *Grace* of Ordination--simply by virtue of
      the essential form having been maintained. However, according to
      Orthodoxy, this is by no means the case. As with their washing, so with
      their laying on of hands--heretics and schimatics can indeed possess
      forms of godliness, while at the same time utterly lacking the Graces
      thereof, until such time as they are received and made whole in the
      Church, in whatever way that is deemed best according to the judgment
      of the Bishops.
