      Today, 25 january/7febriary 2004, The Holy Synod has elected a new
      Archbishop of Genuine Orthodox Church of Greece and Diaspora. As you
      know, His Beatitudine Kallinikos asked last year -(2003) to The Holy
      Synod to be retired as Protoierarh and president of Holy Synod and
      prefered to remain only Metropolitan of Fthiotidos and
      Thavmakos. The Holy Synod of GOC aproved his demands and has
      prepared for new election.
      Today, the Holy Synod of GOC elected His Grace Bishop kyr. MAKARIOS,
      Bishop of Patra as new Archbishop of Genuine Orthodox Church of
      Greece and Diaspora.
      His Beatitudine kyr. MAKARIOS's title will be Archbishop of Athens
      and all the Greece. His Beatitudine kyr. MAKARIOS is born in
      Katerinis - Pireus in 1962, with the laic name of Constantin. He
      entered as monk in Holy Monastery Iakovos. Diacon in 1981 and priest
      from 1986. He finished University of Orthodox Theology in
      Thessalonik in 1990. From 1990 - became elder of H. Monastery
      Iakovos from Thessalonik. In 1996 he was ordained as bishop of Patra
      by His Beatitudine kyr. KALLINIKOS and His Eminence kyr. Efthymios
      of Thessalonika. Until now, was Bishop of Petra and exarh from
      Russian and Ukraina.

        Daeacon at 19, priest at 24, "elder" at 28, bishop (consecrated by
        just two bishops) at 34, Archbishop of all Greece at 42.
        And the canonical ages for these ordinations are???
