On August 9, you began to pray for Gracie who was mourning the death of her
friend Adam to cancer this past April. Gracie was deeply depressed over
this loss and was struggling to keep going.
She had continued to experience Adam's "presence" and was still receiving
emails from his old email account but from someone named Mike. The emails
were cruel and mocking. She was unable to locate an obituary, or
information concerning the cemetery he had been buried in. Before his last
admittance to the hospital, Adam told her that after he died, she shouldn't
try to contact his parents, as he didn't trust them.
Suddenly he was gone and the warmth and companionship of their friendship
was gone as well. Adam is in his early 20's and he seemed to really look
up to Gracie, who is a mom with grown sons. Gracie cherished being Adam's
As the agony continued, so, by the grace of God, did your prayers. One
morning, Gracie awoke with an inspiration concerning one of Adam's email
accounts. Gracie received an inspiration to change the password on the
account. She intuited the original password and successfully changed
it. That's when Adam came back from "the dead".
It turns out that he doesn't now have nor did he ever have cancer, nor did
he die from it. The entire story was contrived for his own amusement, and
Gracie's agony. There is quite a bit of cruelty in the details, but
suffice it to say, the gates of hell arrived on Gracie's doorstep. Adam was
beyond enraged that she had changed the password to the email account and
thus revealed the ruse. Your prayers have caused a battalion of angels to
rush to her, surround her, and defend her.
With this new knowledge, Gracie's suffering has been compounded in many
ways, including feeling grieved that so many have prayed for her and she
had been tricked and horribly betrayed by someone she had completely trusted.
from Gracie: I have relied on the Prayer Warriors, and regard many as
friends. This whole thing has affected me so much that I have ceased to
trust relationships I've had on the web for one to two years. Suddenly
everyone has come under scrutiny. I am mad at myself for allowing
it...doubting even longtime friends, yet I seem unable to help it. This
"whatever it is" has affected my whole life.
It is selfish to feel fear of embarrassment. I just feel so guilty to have
involved the warriors. I believed him Sue, or I would never have sought
prayer for him.
Please continue to pray for Gracie and pray also for Adam. Please send
your words or prayer and encouragement directly to
Thank you so very much.
