Group Description

This is a group to discuss the merits of a world auxiliary language being politically chosen by representatives from each nation and people of the world. Such a language would act as an official auxiliary (or second/additional) language throughout the world to enhance communication and understanding. It could be an existing language or it could be an invented language. This list is also to discuss how to further (or improve) the word-of-mouth "each-one-teach-two" campaign and website at http://onetongue.com which seeks to enlist other like-minded individuals in passing on the idea (and the website).

This list is not intended as a debating forum for which language or language type should ultimately be chosen, since our campaign aims to strictly leave the decision open to our global leaders' representatives and their scholars, even as some of our advocates may have their own preferences and ideas about which language or language type they feel ought to be chosen.

Our failing to leave the decision open would not allow any language to prevail, as only a democratic political solution has the potential of overcoming the present lack of a fully consolidated common language throughout the world.

Supporters who wish to spread the idea as well as any volunteer web designers, programmers, or translators are most welcome to join this growing movement!
