Have a look at http://www.ickn.org/ and Peter Gloor’s work for time based animation of SNA…data sources can come from a variety of sources, including data bases.
The other left field thought is around the types of relationships you might find in a typical data warehouse…..in my deep past I worked in the area of machine learning, where rule based relationships were inferred from data base tables and these rules were often graphically mapped in SNA stype…..I guess it depends on what you are indenting to explore.

Subject: [ona-prac] ONA Modelling from a data warehouse
Does anyone know of any work in the area of SNA modelling from a data
warehouse or database tables?
All my client data is automatically loaded into a data warehouse and I
want to try to build some ongoing SNA modelling into to the web-based
reporting tool/dashboard. Ideally, I want to end up with a time-based
animation of how the networks change over time.
If anyone could point me in the direction of anyone with a similar
interest, I'd really appreciate it.
