            Hi Omar,

Yes I called you every 2 minutes between 0400-0430 UTC on 1838.500 kc Olivia 500/16 but I never printed anything legible. I'm using a 1/4 wave vertical with 64 1/8 wave radials and 800 watts. The listening antenna is a balanced coaxial loop with a 5 foot diameter.

There was allot of signal absorption on mid latitude paths last night due to precipitating electrons into the equatorial ring current. Plus we are now into the heart of the mid winter anomaly where night time D layer absorption is higher.

I will look for you again tonight.

Hi Tom; Good day to you. I am using the Gladiator 160 vertical courtesy of Bob W4DR and his club members.

I am using 1000 watts output power. But not always. Last season I was able to communicate with the East Coast barefoot all the time. Best way to do it is through a sked for several days at around 0400 UTC. So how about it?

            Omar,

What antenna are you using on 160 meters and how much output power?
