      DEBKAfile, Israel  Aug 13, 2007
"[T]o play it safe, DEBKA-Net-Weekly's Iran sources reveal they have hatched a plan to replace the vacillating figure in Damascus with a puppet at their beck and call, modeled on Hizballah's Hassan Nasrallah in Beiru t." [Editor A.N. DEBKAfile is the same Israeli organization that created the false terror alert in New York City this past week, as reported in the link from Ha'aretz, claiming radioactive dirty bombs were planted round the city. From an article of a GAO report downloadable here, "One alleged radiation hot spot on Manhattan's east side has the potential for becoming a political hot spot: A strong radiation spike from the area of the Israeli Embassy. Officials would not comment on why they thought that particular area allegedly showed such a stunning peak in radiation." The Washington Times this past week (08/08/07) disclosed an explosive confidential government report that reported Al-Qaeda "terrorists" masquerading as illegal Hispanics were crossing the Mexican border. They "speak Arabic, Spanish and Hebrew." Keep in mind that most native-born Israelis speak both Arabic and Hebrew, and can pass for Mexicans. Ask yourself: who benefits financially and politically from the war in Iraq, and a war with Iran? Certainly not America. Incidentally, The Washington Times article alternately appe ars and disappears from the web, or is not represented in its entirely.]
Walt-Mearsheimer, authors of upcoming "The Israel Lobby," Cancelled by Chicago Council on Global Affairs
Richard Silverstein, Tikun Olam  Aug 13, 2007
"Philip Weiss and Muzzlewatch report that Stephen Walt and John Mearsheimer, authors of the forthcoming The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy have been disinvited from addressing Chicago's Council on Global Affairs. Apparently, their views are just too incendiary for the audience to bear. . . .But the pair's revenge will be the phenomenal sales of their book when it comes out. As with Carter's book, inveighing against it will only increase interest in it and sales. In fact, you can preorder it here." UPDATE: 8/13/07 Harper's Magazine demands an "accounting" to the American people from the taxpayer-supported non-profit Chicago Council on Global Affairs. [Editor A.N. Jeffrey Blankfort, the highly respected and renowned Jewish Anti-Zionist political dissident and radio host based in San Francisco, wrote: "The Jewish Thought Police score another triumph against the First Amendment. Frankly, the line has long been indistinguishable between Jew and Zionist and will remain so until there is some evidence that those Jews who seriously resent the Jewish power structure speaking their name, publicly, loudly, and repeatedly, and in great numbers, condemn that Jewish power structure for what it is, not only an enemy of the non-Jewish peoples of the Middle East, but also to what is left of American democracy. - JB"]
      Anti-Semitism For Dummies
      Editor A.N.  Aug 13, 2007
Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth - Britain's main body of Orthodox synagogues: "Criticism of Israel is not anti-Semitism. Even denial of Israel's right to exist - obscene though that is - is anti-Zionism, not anti-Semitism, despite the fact that the route from the one to the other is slippery and steep. We do not serve the fight against prejudice by blurring these distinctions."
Gaza: The Auschwitz of our Time -- Largest detention camp in the World
Khalid Amayreh, Palestinian Information Center  Aug 13, 2007
"[I]srael is now incarcerating nearly a million and a half helpless Palestinians in the Gaza Strip into a hell similar in nature to the Warsaw Ghetto. The Gaza concentration camp is not only fi tted with a wall, but also with every conceivable tool of repression, such as electric fences and watch towers manned by Gestapo-like trigger-happy Jewish soldiers who shoot first and ask questions later. Moreover, thousands of Israeli soldiers, are surrounding Gaza in a hermetic manner, shooting and killing any Palestinian trying to escape, e.g. enter Israel to search for work or even food."
America, stop waving the nuclear threat at potential adversaries
Jack Mendelsohn, Christian Science Monitor  Aug 13, 2007
"In the run-up to the presidential election, the candidates of both parties have a chance to indicate to the world that the next administration will forgo the policy of nuclear intimidation and actively s trive to delegitimize nuclear weapons. This nation cannot become more secure by reserving for itself the right to use nuclear weapons while preaching nuclear abstinence for the rest of world." -- Jack Mendelsohn was a US State Department official, a member of the US SALT and START delegations and deputy director of the Arms Control Association.

European Central Bank Could Hold Rates Steady
Parmy Olson, Forbes  Aug 20, 2007
Editor: Euro-bank seem vacillating between inflations concerns and fear of US mortgage crunch fever:  "The central bank had been concern ed about preventing a so-called bank run, when individuals scramble to get their cash out. "That is not inconsistent with raising rates later," Wood, added, "because you then raise rates to bring down inflation."  Liquidity might be a problem, but so is inflation. Laurent Bilke, the senior euro area economist at Lehman Brothers, said he believed the ECB would still hike to 4.25% before the year was up because "inflationary pressures have not disappeared in the last couple of weeks"

Then, the tragedy struck. Abir was seriously wounded and rushed to Mukassad Hospital. From there, Aramin took her to the Hadassah University Medical Center at Ein Karem. No sooner had he arrived than Jewish members of the group started visiting him in the hospital room. "They wanted to know what I would say," recalled Aramin. Aid To Israel Is Out Of Hand
George Bisharat, Baltimore Independent Media  Aug 19, 2007
American and Israeli diplomats have recently revived discussions over our potential financial support of Israel's August withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. Last summer, Israel sought $2 billion, but suspended its request following t he Katrina disaster. With popular and congressional attention to New Orleans now dissipating, Israel is again asking American taxpayers for help, although it has scaled back to $1.2 billion in light of popular sentiment and signals from Congress. This amount is supplemental to Israel's share of our regular foreign aid that has run $3 billion to $4 billion annually for decades.
U.S.:  No strings attached to new defense package for Israel
        Barak Ravid, Ha'aretz, Israel  Aug 17, 2007
"The new $30 billion American defense package for Israel is not conditioned on diplomatic progress or concessions to the Palestinians, a top U.S. aide said Thursday as representatives from both countries signed the memorandum of understanding in Jerusalem. U.S. Under Secretary of State Nicholas Burns said the aid to Israel was meant to counter 'an axis of cooperation between Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and Hamas that is responsible for the violence in the region.'" [Editor A.N. -- Israel is as much responsible for the violence in the region. The 9/11 Commission wrote, specifically, that the Israeli-Palestinian issue fueled the WTC takedown.]
FED quells day of panic with its electronic money printing press
        Associated Press  Aug 17, 2007
The Federal Reserve announced Friday morning a decision to cut the discount window rate to 5.75 percent from 6.25 percent. The central bank's Federal Open Market Committee issued a statement accompanying the 50 basis poin t cut. In response to the discount rate cut the Dow opened over 200 points higher. However, the Fed did not cut the important federal funds rate, which remains at 5.25 percent. Last week, the Fed injected $62 billion into the system, followed this week by a $7 billion injection on Wednesday and another $17 billion on Thursday.
Americans may need passports to board domestic flights
        Eliott C. McLaughlin, CNN  Aug 17, 2007
"The cards would be mandatory for all federal purposes," which include boarding an airplane or walking into a federal building, nuclear facility or national park, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff told the National Conference of State Legislatures last week. Citizens in states that don't comply with the new rules will have to use passports for federal purposes....More than half the nation's state legislatures have passed symbolic legislation denouncing the plan, and some have penned bills expressly forbidding compliance." One supporter of  "Real ID" calls it an "unfunded mandate" that could cost states up to $14 billion over the next decade, but for which only $40 million has been federally approved. The group is demanding Congress pony up $1 billion for startup costs by year's end or scrap the proposal altogether."
        Mortgages and the Jewish Question
Editorial, The Jewish Forward, NYC  Aug 16, 2007
'[I] am told there is enough liquidity in the system to enable markets to correct,' the president added. That is, Bush believes there's enough cash to cover the current failures. The market is saying there isn't. Not coincidentally, t he big news in Israel last week was the announcement that the Jewish state's defense budget had to be slashed by a shocking 10%, suddenly and unexpectedly. The reason: Washington told Jerusalem it was not going to deliver an expected infusion of military aid, because Uncle Sam doesn't have the money. The world economy may not be troubled by the weakness in America, but there's one little corner of the world that's terrified."
Evangelical pastor told to leave Israel

"An American evangelical pastor and his wife who have been living in Israel for nearly two decades have been ordered to leave the country within two weeks, after their request for permanent residency was turned down, officials said on Thursday. . . . Interior Ministry officials said the decision was made following suspicions that Cantrell was involved in missionary work. The pastor categorically denied the allegations as baseless."  [Editor A.N. -- Yet Israel is allowed to proselytize in this country, even if negatively, by denouncing anything that doesn't comport with Israel's understanding as anti-semitic; and we permit immediate dual citizenship even amongst our own government officials. Israeli troops, positioned on the borders of Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza Strip, have opened heavy gunfire on Palestinian farmers while they were toiling on the ground on Thursday at midday. . . . On Tuesday, the Israeli army killed tw o children. Abed Al Qader Ashur, 13, and Fadi Al Kafarnah, 13, were playing with friends in a field near a school in Beit Hanoun, when a nearby Israeli tank targeted them.
US survey raises eyebrows in Jerusalem

A survey by a respected journal showing that 15 of 108 foreign policy elites in the US believe Israel does not serve US national security interests has raised eyebrows in Jerusalem. . . . The journal billed the respondents, whose names were not supplied, as America's "top foreign-policy experts." Forty-five [out of  108] of the respondents described themselves as Democrats, 24 as Republicans, and the rest as Independents.
A Boycott Of Israel: Something Has Changed
John Pilger, New Statesman, UK  Aug 23, 2007
[Editor A.N. -- Veteran Australian war correspondent and BBC filmmaker, John Pilger, has covered the Middle East for four decades.] "The ethnic cleansing of Palestine is as much America's crusade as Israel's. On 16 August, the Bush administration announced an unprecedented $30bn military "aid package" for Israel, the world's fourth biggest military power, an air power greater than Britain, and a nuclear power greater than France. No other country on earth enjoys such immunity, allowing it to act without sanction, as Israel. No other country has such a record of lawlessness: not one of the world's tyrannies comes close. International treaties, such as the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, ratified by Iran, are ignored by Israel. There is nothing like it in UN history. But something is changing. . . .  The swell of a boycott is growing inexorably, as if an important marker has been passed, reminiscent of the boycotts that led to sanctions against apartheid South Africa. . . . In Britain, an often Jewish-led academic campaign against Israel's "methodical destruction of [the Palestinian] education system" can be translated by those of us who have reported from the occupied territories into the arbi trary closure of Palestinian universities, the harassment and humiliation of students at checkpoints and the shooting and killing of Palestinian children on their way to school."
Gross: Bush needs to rescue homeowners
          CNNMoney.com  Aug 23, 2007
Editor CE- A Wall Street bond tycoon asks for a billion dollar gift with a straight face. Bring out the tar and feathers for Mr. Bill Gross, his idea is a fraud on those of you who did not borrow too much to buy too big a home purchased from someone at too high a price. Gross, a  bond speculator with other people's money,  is pretending that the money printed at the FED is free and no one has to repay it.  Not so, it is economics 101  inflation...there is a payback time. Not only is it criminal to bail out home investors with printed money, but it will not work; there is no way to sort out which ones are innocent moms and dads caught in speculative craze and which ones are rank speculators buying three or even thirty houses with no money down, with the hope of a fast profit.  If the truth was known, Mr. Gross probably is one of the latter, I wonder how many mortgage derivative bonds he owns? He says: "This rescue, which admittedly might bail out speculators who deserve much worse, would support millions of hard-working Americans whose recent hours have become ones of f rantic desperation."  Gross, a founder of the fixed-income investment firm PIMCO and a columnist for Fortune."
Benjamin Heine, Desert Peace, Israel  Aug 23, 2007
No one seems to hear the cries from Warsaw enough to act, despite the reports that talk about imminent economic collapse, dangerous food shortages, total aid dependency and impending humanitarian disaster. Neither the cries nor the reports appear in the headlines or news alerts in our mainstream media." [Editor A.N. Why do Christian Evangelical pastors support a repeat of this horror in the 21st Century in Jesus' name? What Israel is doing to the Palestinians is barbaric, inhumane, and a crime against humanity. Israel has 6 million people. 4.8 million are Russian émigrés who took advantage of U.S. generosity to get them out of Russia.

Our Congratulations to the People of Turkey
          Israel Shamir  Aug 23, 2007
"Our congratulations to the people of Turkey on the election victory of the Islamic Party! This is a fateful event: the East returns to God, and finds its own way. Istanbul has followed Gaza: the AKP-ruled Turkey will be a friend to Hamas-ruled Palestine, to Islamic Iran, to Orthodox Greece and Russia, to the religious anti-occupation forces of nearby Iraq. She will again take her place of pride as the centerpiece of the Eastern mosaic, while its pro-American and God-hating generals, the Turkish Dahlans, will creep back to their barracks. Faith in God unites us, while the nationalists had divided us."
The Great Middle East Peace Process Scam
Henry Siegman, London Review of Books  Aug 21, 2007
[Editor A.N. -- Henry Siegman, the director of the US/ Middle East Project, served as a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations from 1994 to 2006, and head of the American Jewish Congress from 1978 to 1994. "If the U.S. and its allies were to take a stand forceful enough to persuade Israel that it will not be allowed to make changes to the pre-1967 situation except by agreement with the Palestinians in permanent status negotiations, there would be no need for complicated peace formulas or celebrity mediators to get a peace process underway. The only thing that an envoy such as Blair can do to put the peace process back on track is to speak the truth about the real impediment to peace. This would also be a historic contribution to the Jewish state, since Israel's only hope of real long-term security is to have a successful Palestinian state as its neighbor."
Settlers cut Palestinian water supply to fill swimming pool
Ronny Shaked, Ynetnews, Israel  Aug 21, 2007
Residents of the settlement of Elon Moreh in the West Bank have cut a pipe carrying drinking water to a nearby Palestinian village, and are using it to fill a small swimming pool located at a picnic site, which was itself built on land owned by the village. The pipe, which carries water to the village of Dir al-Khatab, was rerouted in order to fill the pool. The pipe channels fresh drinking water into the pool and drains dirty water back into the village's water system. "They not only use water that doesn't belong to them, but they also pollute the drinking water of some of the village residents," said Yoel Marshak, head of the Kibbutz Movement's Special Assignments Branch. "The little kids pee in the water, which flows straight to the taps of the Palestinian school."
Christians, Jews in Holy Land alliance
          CNN  Aug 21, 2007
Christian Zionists often converge on Washington by the thousands to lobby members of Congress in support of Israel.  Sen. Joseph Lieberman, I-Connecticut, was among the speakers at last month's convention of Christians United for Israel.  "There are a lot more Christian Zionists in America than Jewish Zionists," A recent poll found that 59 percent of American evangelicals believe Israel is the fulfillment of biblical prophecy. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs estimates 85 million evangelicals believe God tells them to support Israel -- more than six times the world's Jewish population.

"An IAF helicopter struck a car full of Islamic Jihad terrorists between Khan Younis and the Kissufim Crossing Tuesday, killing at least three terrorists. According to the IDF, the men had been involved in shooting attacks on IDF soldiers in recent weeks along the Gaza border fence. Six Hamas terrorists were killed and one more wounded in an air strike on their pick-up truck as it drove though central Gaza's al-Bureij neighborhood Monday evening. One of the men was a local Hamas commander, Muhammed Abu Arab."
Can You Hear the Cries from Gaza?
          Sonja Karkar  Aug 20, 2007
Grim as the facts and figures are, they can never make us feel the agony of the mother who does not have a grain of rice left to feed her starving children, the desperation of the father who cannot get his sick child through the closed border crossing for t reatment in Egypt, the terror of the child who wets the bed every night wondering if the soldiers will come again to ransack the house, the constant fear of schoolchildren knowing that even school is no haven from soldiers' bullets and mortar fire, the despairing distress of families who are not even given time to save their belongings as bulldozers come to tear down their homes, the desolation of thousands of people with no jobs to go to, the helplessness of thousands more who have received no wages for months and the wretchedness of the starving families who depend on the jobless and the unpaid. An entire population is in shut down -- more than a million stories of agonizing pain and overwhelming grief. But, no one is hearing the cries.

Wall Street tells us on Wednesday morning after a big stock market drop the previous day: "At 10:30 am ET, the yield on the benchmark 10-year note was down 2.8 basis points to 4.502 %.Yields plunged in mid-morning trading Wednesday. They began to sink at 9:30 am ET, following the stock market open. Treasuries are trading at yet another multi-month intraday high." Editor - So what does this Wall Street mean in plain English? It means the Federal Reserve privately owned bank is printing money with the peddle to the metal in order to stave off further stock market declines, and to prop up many of some 60,000 mortgage companies that are in trouble because they have been stupid and greedy.  The "yield" of a bond is always on a teeter-totter with the "price", when one goes up the other goes down. This means when the FED prints money to buy US Treasury bonds they drive up the 'price' and down goes the 'yield.' That's how you can tell what they are doing.  This story tells the Have-more's that the FED is enabling loans of tens of billions of electronically printed money right now. That is why the stock market is up today.  Where does the FED get all this money? The "create" it, which mean you must pay it back in rising prices. You're on a teeter-totter too! Remember this when the price of food doubles.

Michael Brendan Douherty, American Conservative  Aug 31, 2007
[Editor A.N. -- big mention about WHTT work in The American Conservative this week. P.S. Chuck is not a Pastor.] "Not every evangelical is pleased with Hagee or his confere nce. Pastor Chuck Carlson flew in from Scottsdale, Arizona to greet CUFI with giant yellow signs reading 'Reject Apostate Christianity' and 'Choose Life, Not War.' 'We think up to 100 million people are influenced by the ideas of John Hagee,' he says. 'We're becoming a culture of war.' Carlson's literature is theologically conservative, attacking Hagee's gospel as 'un-biblical.'
Bill Hijarah: With the Stones (a moving, evocative piece)
Fred Habachi, Palestine Chronicle  Aug 31, 2007
No word, no poetry, no art, nothing that can be expressed verbally or otherwise may convey the majesty and the glory of the human spirit as it was expressed by this Palestinian mother and her children. And no en voy from the Zionist establishment is big enough, smart enough or powerful enough to change this reality. But when someone from that establishment goes on television to try and denigrate the Palestinian people, they only prove that lowlife can sometimes exist alongside a glorious majesty. . . . The lowlife is that of the commanders who send their tanks to demolish the homes of those whose homeland they once plundered and whose children they now kill lest they multiply and gain the political clout by which to reclaim what was taken from them by force of arm. [Editor A.N. -- this is worth reading just for the evocative prose.]
UN report: Iranian uranium enrichment operating well below capacity
              Ha'aretz  Aug 31, 2007
Iran's uranium enrichment program is operating well below capacity and is far from producing nuclear fuel in significant amounts, according to a confidential United Nations nuclear watchdog report. A senior Iranian nuclear off icial said the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) report showed U.S. suspicions about Tehran's nuclear intentions were baseless. [Editor A.N. Iran's 'maybe-perhaps' future nuclear weapon capacity does not seem to pose any threat, and one might wonders why Israel's prime newspaper, Haaretz. tells it unless many Israeli's also do not want nuclear war?
Poll: 71% of Israelis want U.S. to strike Iran if talks fail
Aluf Benn, Haaretz Correspondent  Aug 30, 2007
Fully 71 percent of Israelis believe that the United States should launch a military attack on Iran if diplomatic efforts fail to halt Tehran's nuclear program, according to a new poll. [Editor A.N. -- Sure. W ith whose money? Whose weapons. Whose lives?]
Israel did not keep one promise, says Palestinian PM Fayyad
Roee Nahmias, Ynetnews, Israel  Aug 30, 2007
'Not everything reported in the media actually takes place,' Palestinian prime minister says, detailing series of violations by Jewish state. According to Fayyad, 'There is a big difference between the talks o n cooperation and ease of restrictions and what happens in practice'. [Editor A.N. -- Typical.]
Israeli soldiers kill two children, critically wound sister with tank round
              Aljazeera  Aug 29, 2007
"Witnesses say they were playing and collecting whatever scrap metal they found in the area, including perhaps the launchers that are usually left by the Palestinian factions that launch these rockets. "These children are falling victim to both the abject poverty they live in and the circumstances surrounding the firing of these rockets and the Israeli firing of tank shells in those northern areas of Gaza."
Jewish Activist Attack Florida Pastor for His Stance on Palestinian State
Arutz Shevy, Israel National News Service  Aug 29, 2007
Editor CE: Jeremy Gimpel and Ari Abramowitz, hosts of Arutz-7-IsraelNationalRadio's Light Onto the Nation Program are organizing an attack on Florida Pastor Joel Hunter, because he dared to say the obvious, that the Palestinians deserve a state of their own if they want one.  Here are their words taken from the Old Testament designed to be a threat against Pastor Hunter that God will destroy him for not showing sufficient homage to political Israel: "The two Israeli show hosts added, "Pastor Hunter would be wise to heed the warning issued by his namesake, the prophet Joel, who prophesized, '...there will I deal with and execute judgment upon them for their treatment of My people and of My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations and because they have divided My land.'"   "It is one thing for Pastor Hunter to stand against G-d on his own," they aver, "but to lead his congregation into such error is tragic indeed." Editor returns: Hunter and Gimpel have now agreed to debate the issue on BBC Radio this Thursday, Aug. 30, a t 10:20 AM, EST.  We hope pastor Hunter will stick to the New Testament admonitions to "love one's neighbor," even his enemies.  For a clear 43 minute understanding of the issue of who owns the land called 'Israel' go to:  http://www.whtt.org/show  And read One Nation Under Israel: http://eshop.whtt.org/eshop.php?id=28

The two are both serving 10-year prison terms in China for writings on the Internet, after allegedly being tracked down with the help of account-holder information provided by Yahoo.

Dismissed chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry urged Pakistanis 'to rise up and make sacrifices for the supremacy of the law.' Chaudhry, who was removed from his post on Saturday along with other top judges, was addressing a lawyers' assembly by phone from his official residence where he was being kept under house arrest. 'Lawyers are the vanguard of the movement against this dictatorial re gime and we will resist until the army general is deposed,' said lawyer Shakeel Amin, who was among the crowd.

"Quotas are out," Makhenkesi Stofile said. "Let us now put our resources into the development of talent. Quotas were used only for window-dressing for international consumption. Those who have the money go and buy the players, instead of developing the boys where they are. The government is not going to decide who must be on the team. All we are saying is: expose everybody, give them an opportunity."
Dollar hits 26-year low against pound
                Guardian UK  Nov 07, 2007
Analysts said today's falls had been sparked by comments made by Cheng Siwei, vice chairman of China's National People's Congress. He told a Beijing conference on Tuesday that China would "favor stronger currencies over weaker ones, and readjust accordingly". vice director of China's central bank, Xu Jian, was also quoted as telling the conference that the dollar was "losing its status as the world currency". Than ks to China's booming exports, the country now holds the largest reserves of foreign currency in the world. The People's Bank of China reported last month that at the end of September, China's foreign reserves were worth $1.434 trillion.
2007 is deadliest year for US in Iraq
                Associated Press  Nov 06, 2007
Meanwhile, the U.S. said it planned to release nine Iranian prisoners in the coming days, including two captured when U.S. troops stormed an Iranian government office in Irbil last January. The office was shut after the raid, but it reopened as an Iranian consulate on Tuesday, Iraqi and Iranian officials said. A military spokesman said Iran appears to have kept its promise to stop the flow into Iraq of bomb-m aking materials and other weaponry that Washington says has inflamed insurgent violence and caused many American troop casualties. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said last week that Iran had made such assurances to the Iraqi government. "It's our best judgment that these particular EFPs ... in recent large cache finds do not appear to have arrived here in Iraq after those pledges were made," Rear Adm. Gregory Smith, director of the Multi-National Force-Iraq's communications division, told reporters Tuesday.
Structural Analysis Of Pakistani Political Forces
Kaukab Siddique, PhD  Nov 05, 2007
One of the most ridiculous aspects of Pakistani politics, which has been repeated so often that its recurrence makes outside observers yawn, is the imposition of blatant military rule on the excuse of "chaos," "anarchy" and "economic deterioration." ...Thus we have Benazir Bhutto and the Peoples Party as beneficiaries of America. This is America's B team, ready to step in and provide the "civi lian front" if America's venture through

"...not one congressman I know of has dared to bring up the oil motive' Well, I know of a Republican congressman who has brought it up many times. And he represents the Houston, TX district of all places. And he's running for President. His name is RON PAUL. He even had the courage to bring up the issue immediately after the 9/11 attacks. And he hasn't relented. More pertinent, pe rhaps, to this blog  -- he does not cave in to the Zionist lobby, and opposes the government's financial and military support of Israel. And pertinent for all Christians -- he is one of the strongest pro-life candidates out there, having sponsored a constitutional amendment guaranteeing human rights to the unborn.
