The Center for Immigrant Families is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Granville Leo Stevens, a wonderful friend, human being, and tireless fighter for justice. Granville (also known as Leo) was a deeply ethical and caring and kind man. His commitment to justice in our public education system was deep within his soul. He spoke out against racism and classism and all forms of inequality and cared deeply about ensuring that all students would receive the education they so deserved. Granville was a true friend of CIF—he was always interested in building alliances amongst all our communities in deep and genuine ways. We will greatly miss our friend and comrade. His passing is a great and profound loss for us as individuals and for the larger movement for justice.  May he rest in peace.

We also send our warmest thoughts to his beloved family.
