A cafe' philo is an informal discussion group. Absolutely everyone is welcome; the only requirement is a willingness to be open and friendly toward others' points of view.
Participants select topics broadly related to philosophy, such as, "What is Art," "Are We Free?," "Religion and Science," etc. At the end of our evening, the participants propose topics for the next meeting; the one topic that gets the most votes will be the topic of discussion for the next cafe' philo.
Bernard Roy (email@example.com), Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Ramapo College of New Jersey is the organizer and moderator of the group.
We meet every other Thursday between 7:30 and 9:00 p.m. at Bamiyan, 358 3rd Ave @ 26th St, New York, NY.
Next meetings are March 8, March 22, and so on...
