- RIALTO: BROADWAY A CAPPELLA
A New York City-based vocal group merging the emotional complexity of
musical theatre with the accessibility of a cappella. Our repertoire
will consist solely of songs written for musicals.
A cappella is a choice of orchestration.
Musical theatre is a style of writing and performance.
Rialto is the synthesis of both, pushing the boundaries to create a
new expression of music.

In search of:
SOPRANO BELT/SOPRANO: large range, soulful sound, (Think "Mama Will
Provide" from ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, "Take Me Or Leave Me" Joanne's
part (Tracey Thoms) from RENT, early Whitney Houston). Must be able
to sing strong leads and be proficient in contemporary a cappella
BARITONE: with bass notes, preferably sings comfortably down to a D.
Versatile singer who can transition between traditional musical
theatre baritone and more pop/contemporary a cappella style.
TRUE LOW BASS: range extending below a low D, must understand the
role of a bass singer in contemporary acappella (think Alvin Chea of
Take Six or George Baldi of Rockapella.)
All positions require strong blend, balance, tuning, and impeccable
musicianship. Improvisational ability, impersonating
instruments/percussive sounds, and a responsible, mature,
professional demeanor with an excellent work ethic also required.
Must have legit theatre chops and a cappella precision.
Auditions currently being held in New York City.
Rehearsals are in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday evenings from 7-10
