The Howdy Boys are;
Fiddler Doug Bright mastered Bluegrass, Country, and Old Time music at an early age and his playing has lit the fire under some great bands over the years. Besides fiddling and singing with The Howdy Boys, Doug edits and publishes the HERITAGE MUSIC REVIEW, a monthly magazine devoted to roots music of all genres.
Longtime traditional bluegrass fanatic Jeff Broihier powers the band with his bass playing and high spirits and writes infectious classic-sounding material that grabs the heart and moves the feet. He's performed all over with many great bands, including Northwest favorites 78 RPM.
Jason Stewart’s musical experience has included performing on the Grand Ole Opry and performing and recording with Jim Lauderdale. He also was a sideman with James Monroe and the Midnight Ramblers. He has been a mainstay of popular NW bands such as Prairie Flyer and Dysfundtion Junction. His power, versatility, and great sense of style are a fantastic fit with The Howdy Boys sound!
Rob Bulkley books the band, sings, picks insistent rhythm guitar and throws out the occasional soulful, bluesy solo. For a number of years he sang and played around the Northwest with Sockeye. Rob works at Dusty Strings Acoustic Music Shop in Seattle, where he leads a monthly Bluegrass jam session and teaches Bluegrass jam classes.
