  • Nice to have an article, but I think the writer should have interviewed a cacher. She missed a lot about the sport, including how searching for a cache can take you to cool parts of a town that only locals know about. The cacher hurt at Salmon Hole was searching for my cache. I hid the container near the top of the canyon so cachers wouldn't have to make the treacherous trip down...

  • Mike, speaking on behalf of probably everyone, we think you were pussy-footin' around the issue and being a bit vague. Can you just tell us how you really feel? Thanks, J --- On Mon, 8/22/11, thrak@^$1 wrote: From: thrak@^$2 Subject: Re: [NUTS] Facebook "Chico Cachers" To: nuts_@^$3 Cc: "Courtney" Date: Monday, August 22, 2011, 10:29 PM I work in IT. • Hex is still alive and kicking. Been reading the emails, but sometimes from my iPhone. Then I don't often remember to open them again on my computer. I'm not much for replying to emails from the iPhone (tiny keyboards/screen etc.) when I'm on the road. I didn't voice my opinion about what logo to use because I can only remember what the "wedge" looks like. I figured that I would...

  • Oh boy, here comes the hate mail! BTW Courtney.....at 45, you are considered "old" by lots of folks. --- On Tue, 11/16/10, Quadmft wrote: From: Quadmft Subject: Re: [NUTS] Re: Facebook RCGDS Fan Page To: nuts_@^$1 Date: Tuesday, November 16, 2010, 7:55 AM Old people don't want to keep up with the new better things. • A lot of new caches (around Chico) are either of the nano or "flat" category. Neither of which has an option to select for size. On occasion the cache owner mentions these sizes in their description but that doesn't help with the filters. Urban caching......more about the hide, less about the swag. Also, I know several cachers that "say" they will add a size and hint after FTF is...

  • If you have an iPhone and you cache I think you'd be crazy not to have the geocache app from groundspeak. I still use my Garmin for the majority of cache searches. But I count on my app for posting field notes, checking descriptions in the field, falling back on the hint and even reading recent logs. I was in San Francisco recently and decided to hunt a cache near Union Square (the...
