hey folks, thanks for all the congrats on our 50 States Challenge. It was truly an awesome adventure and what a wonderful country and great people along the way.

We also have a wayward service spoon left at yesterday's event. Please claim it or it's fate will be sealed as a travel bug. :o) R&C

We would like to add our congratulations! We know how dedicated you were to completing this challenge!! We even tagged along for a few of the states before GWVI including the Boggy Bottom Monster and the Waffle House run to GA. Well done.

Early morning grab made this final a piece of cake. We've been on the road to this day for almost five years. An awesome series of adventures that took us up the AlCan Highway, across the country in several jumps to grab sections of the country, zigzagging through the midwest, and a flight to Hawaii. Actually completed this challenge a year and a few months ago, finally getting back to SoCal for the final. Thanks so much to the cache owner for putting out this challenge of challenges. We've loved every state and every mile and every cache of it, R&C

Hi folks, just received this from the appeals@...  regarding our effort to create a State of Jefferson DeLorme Challenge. For those who have heard of our efforts to place this unusual challenge we are sorry that it will apparently NOT happen. Below is the response to our appeal. Sorry Professor!

Greetings rock&crystal, and thank you for writing to Groundspeak about your challenge cache.

Your State of Jefferson Counties Challenge GC1TVK1 was published today.

Your State of Jefferson DeLorme Challenge GC1TVMP is essentially a duplicate challenge on an identical theme and we believe it is inappropriate to publish it. Also, DeLorme Challenges have historically been about finding a cache on each page of a specific DeLorme book, not selected pages from multiple books

        Sincerely,

        Brad Webb

We of course do not share this opinion and as residents of the State of Jefferson find this to be just one more case of injustice. The rationale based on the issue of "duplication" seems odd as most States now have BOTH a Counties and DeLorme Challenge.

Well, now that we've stirred the pot (Groundspeak received a more radical rsponse, which may or may not be shared later), we are off to the southwest for some caching, rockhounding, adventures, and certainly less oppression.

        Cache happy, R&C grrrrr!  [:D]

Maybe it could be a State of Jefferson quad challenge.  One of our computer wizards could probably create a quad overlay map and it would still be a fun

I don't understand why it couldn't be published as is but I am sure the approvers and Groundspeak know much better than us cachers on what makes for a good cache.
