This adventure for us began about a year and a half ago.

Julie and I started this multi ages ago, getting all the way to the next-to-last stage before Julie got to tired to continue. We vowed to get to the last stage someday.

Last year, my computer died...I lost all my saved waypoints, including the coordinates to the final stage.

Last summer, I told Julie that I remembered exactly where the next-to-last stage was, and we could go there and get the final stage coordinates. After wandering all over upper park in the 105-degree weather, I FINALLY found the next-to-last stage and got the numbers...but again, Julie was too hot and worn out to finish.

So...today Julie and I (and the 2 dogs) set out to finish this multi cache.

We left in the early afternoon. We made our way there. We had gone the upper trail, so Julie stayed at the top rim while I went down to the cache. I looked and looked and couldn't find the container. What a let down!!! I was sooo bummed. I called ka6aru (not home) and Escapades to confirm my coordinates, thinking I had transposed the numbers last summer. They didn't have the final numbers, so I was on my own.

I did it the hard way...I just started looking around. I found the final stage 257 feet from where my GPS thought it was. Victory at last, and the quest is over.

It took almost 2 years, 3 trys, LOTS of sweat, a few tears, a little blood, and some huffing and puffing, but the deep, deep feeling of satisfaction is definitely worth it. This is a cache we will always remember!!
