  • Okay, I found a actual ".deb" pkg (from Ubuntu even) which, after installing the "new and [alleged] improved version" of Wine, I installed it with no problems (so far). AND I have fixed the focus problem! Here is the link for those who want to obtain a version of Wine 1.0.1: http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/wine1.0 way down at the bottom. (And no, the "force version" wouldn't give...

  • Do you know where I can get a copy of Wine 1.01? If it's a "build it yourself" then I will have to stick with what I have. The real main problem is the switching back and forth issue. Thanks for the info on XFCE. I have heard good things about it. Is it difficult to switch (will the software still appear on the menus)? > I'm no longer a 'buntard so can't offer feedback there. But I...

  • I recently upgraded from Ubuntu 10.04 LTS to 12.04 LTS. In doing so Wine was upgraded to 1.4 from 1.0 (I hadn't upgraded as it worked really good in 1.0). Aside from a speed problem here and there when I run certain clips I have the problem of when I switch to a different program using ALT-TAB, then, when I try to ALT-TAB back to NoteTab, it doesn't go back to NoteTab. I know that...

  • Looking for a little help with a clip I am making. This might have been asked before, if so, just point me in the right direction. Is it possible to combine two commands in one line in a clip. especially in a wizard? For instance: The wizard I am creating is a selection of different types of formatting of hrefs in an HTML document. So far I have this...

  • Very interesting. I had given up and was going to fully remove Wine (which I did) and then install the latest version because a guy from the Wine forums was going to help me with each problem I had. In order to get to Wine 1.4 I needed to add a new source to the repositories list, as per the Wine site (for Ubuntu distros). So I did and then when I went to install the latest version...

  • Well, that was a bust. It will only allow me to use either v.1.2.2 or v.1.1.42. Anyone have any other suggestions? Meanwhile, I'm going to try the Wine site and the Ubuntu forum. • It doesn't happen to any program not running under Wine so it must be related to Wine (v.1.2.2), although it could be a combination of both (I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 - I like the LTS versions) because it didn't happen when I was running Ubuntu 8.04 and an earlier version of Wine. I am "trying" to see what makes it happen but I usually am working away and (sometimes) ... poof ... it...
