      Group,

Just to get you up to speed on my dilemma with uploading my web site. When I
had my evaluation copy of wsftp everything worked fine. Transferring was
simple and you were able to view all the ingredients.

Since installing the wsftp software I see the site fine no images. I have
gone through all the troubleshooting ideas to no avail. I have sent ipswitch
      a note about this difficulty.

      I'm stymied,
      JSB

        Group,

I apologize if I seem redundant but its not the url that is the problem. Otherwise I would gladly attach the url address. What I'm trying to explain is that while working with wsftp I can see the site clearly on the local serve(hard drive) however when I want to view it on the remote I see the site but without the images.I have the image folder in the appropriate <dir> yet when I go to the web site on the remote no images.

It wouldn't do any good for me to give you the url since the site is up and running very nicely. All I'm doing right now is updating our information while adding a few bells and whistles.

Like I said without appearing redundant the current site is fine. Within wsftp the local server is fine its the remote where I can't see the images.

It's interesting to me that this seems to be an unsolvable issue or at least its presenting such a challenge to everyone that at times we can't see the forest for the trees.

I use notetab extensively and use it interchangeably with wsftp. I'm at a loss to explain this dilemma.

        Kind regards,
        JSB

          Hang in there, friend.

These are the most common problems when using WS_FTP:

1.) Images must be transfered as binary. Did you have ASCII selected?

2.) If you had "Auto" selected, it is not always reliable with images, switch to binary explicitly for graphics.

3.) On some servers there is a delay of THIRTY MINUTES OR **MORE** before submitted changes are visible on the server. This delay
may be more during night-time server maintenance hours.

4.) On some servers there is an issue of case in file names. Lower case is always acceptable, as are traditional "8.3" filenames.
Did you have all files named in lower case if necessary? ...8.3?

5.) Some servers will not accept 4 character file extensions. Did you have the proper file extensions?

6.) Have you examined the WS_FTP log files? There may be valuable information there.

Practice some square breathing now. Then calmly reassess the situation and solve your problem. We all have been right where you are
          and we all survived.

We will be here if you need more help.

Let us know what you discover.

My guess is they are uploaded to a host folder/directory other
than where you are looking. ;) Click on the arrow "dealy" to go
up one level, or click on the directories you are at when you
open Ws_Ftp and connect to your site to poke around and see where
they are. You can also study your HTML document to see where the
images are. That is why a link would be useful that was asked
            for by Ed Brown.

Check out my FtpZip Library for use with Ws_Ftp LE/Pro and
WinZip. I think you will be very pleased with one click uploads
of the focused file in the background while you continue to work.
I normally click on the one clickers up to about 5-10 files at a
time: click, click tab, click upload, click tab, click upload,
etc... If there are more than that, I usually just do a regular
upload from Ws_Ftp. It supports 10 host servers and shareware
versions that0 upload paths as is, but certainly can be added to.
Examples, etc. are in the Library. Try:

              Hi JSB,

              Example and correction follow...

              >That is why a link would [could|may] be useful...

For instance, if your .htm file has something like...

              <a href="http://www.fookes.com/"><img src="..\image\ef.gif" width="50" height="72" border="0" alt="Click here to visit the Fookes Software Homepage..."></a>

...then you would know that the images are in a directory named
"image", and not in the same directory as the HTML file that is
              loaded in the browser.

              That should have read:

It supports 10 host servers and 20 upload paths as is, but
              certainly can be added to.

(That is one of *my* problems using UAS when typing in a number I
forget at times to hit my ESC key. When I type a number the
associated line in the UAS popup gets added to what I am typing
instead of the actual number. <g>)
