      Are you sure the lines are not tableborders? If You want no spacing/no
      borders you shall have <TABLE border=0 spacing=0>.

      If you have a different bgcolor in the cells than on the rest of the
      page, the page bgcolor sometimes renders as lines in that color if you
      have carriege returns inside the cells (but this is unusual). Like this:
      <TD>
      blablabla
      <IMG>
      blablabla
      </TD>

      If that is the case try:
      <TD>blablabla<IMG>blablabla</TD>
