To do what you want, you only need one replace statement

      ^!Replace "\x20\x20+" >> "\x20" ARS

This will only function when there are two or more spaces. There is no need
to replace singles, but you don't want three reduced to two either.

      So, this would do it:

^!Continue This reduces multiple spaces to a single space from the current
cursor position to the end of the document.
      Continue?
      ^!SetScreenUpdate Off
      ^!Replace "\x20\x20+" >> "\x20" ARS

Make sure your cursor is where you want to start from. The W means Whole
document, so it is removed. A means All. S means Silent. R means Regular
Expression. This stuff is available in the help system too.

      Delete Program Spaces

^!Continue You are about to Strip all Program Spaces out of this program.
      Continue?
      ^!SetScreenUpdate Off
      ^!Jump 1
      :next_record
      ^!Replace " " >> "" AIRSTW
      ^!IfError End
      ^!Jump +1
      ^!Goto next_record

i use the above clip to remove spaces and it will remove all the spaces but
      is
there a way to make it only remove spaces below CURSOR ???
