      I do something similar, but since I know the webpages I'm copying from I
      never have to clear tabs...

      ^!Replace \n\s+\n >> \n RWAS

      This removes blank lines with one or more spaces. If you change this line
      to:

      ^!Replace \n\t+\n >> \n RWAS

      it should do what you want.
