A variable does not ask the user anything! Are you sure you are not trying
to find out how to use a wizard? I could possibly have a better answer
there. Your wizard would look like this:

      ^!Info ^?[Test One=Moo|_Cow|Bull]

This will produce a dtop down list/wizard with three items - Moo, Cow, and
Bull with Cow being the default highlighted. If you select nothing it will
display Cow. If you select either of the other two it will display the one
      you selected.

      ^!Set %elf%=^?[Make your selection=_11|eleven]

This will produce a drop down list/wizard with two items - 11 and eleven
with 11 being the default highlighted item. If you select nothing it will
set the variable %elf% to 11 and if you select the other it will set the
      variable to eleven.

      ^!Set %elf%=^?[Make your selection==_11|eleven]

This one does the same except that the window is a listbox instead of a
      drop down window.

        Hi Kevin,

I was just playing around and I reduced the number of lines in the original
clip from 30 to 22. And it still works fine.

        ^!Set %Counter%=^?[Repeat count]
        :Start
        ^!If ^%Counter% < 1 End
        ^!Dec Counter
        ^!Set %num2%="^$StrRandom(1;1..3)$"
        ^!If "^%num2%" = "1" Next ELSE Skip
        ^!Set %6%="Mein"; %7%="My"
        ^!If "^%num2%" = "2" Next ELSE Skip
        ^!Set %6%="Elf"; %7%="Eleven"; %8%="11"
        ^!If "^%num2%" = "3" Next ELSE Skip
        ^!Set %6%="Jung"; %7%="Young"
        ^!Set %num1%="^?{^%6%}"
        ^!IfSame "^%num1%" "^%7%" Correct
        ^!IfSame "^%num1%" "^%8%" Correct2

        ^!Keyboard #Sorry ^%7% ^%6%# Enter
        ^!Goto Start
        :Correct
        ^!Keyboard #Correct ^%7% ^%6%# Enter
        ^!Goto Start
        :Correct2
        ^!Keyboard #Correct ^%8% ^%6%# Enter
        ^!Goto Start
