OpenSlug 2.0 beta binary release
- I am pleased to announce that the OpenSlug 2.0 beta binary is ready
The OpenSlug binary is available from http://www.openslug.org.
As stated previously, the binary includes the Intel IXP400 loadable
kernel module, and that code is licensed from Intel. A click- through
license is presented for your agreement at the website. However, the
click-through license agreement is dependant upon you accepting the
"Other Licenses" - including the Intel license. In no way, does the
click-through license subject Intel software or code to open source
license obligations. Please read the dependant licenses carefully
before you agree to the click-through license.
1.) As has been recommended previously, OpenSlug firmware is only for
use by people who have previously installed and administered one or
more Linux systems. Furthermore, if you have never used firmware other
than the Linksys base firmware, it is strongly recommended that you
try out Unslung firmware (http://www.unslung.org) first before moving
to OpenSlug firmware.
2.) Please review the OpenSlug 2.0 Release Notes at
http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/OpenSlug/ReleaseNotes2x0 and the Using
the Binary page at
A big "Thank You!" goes out to all of the people who have spent so
much time and so much effort in coding, debugging, and coding and
debugging some more on the NSLU2-Linux project.
