      Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way to get the slug to recognize my
adaptec Acs-100 USB 2.0 drive enclosure.

I have plugged this into my desktop (Slackware 10.1) - and it saw it
fine with the following entries in the syslog:

      Apr 27 21:02:46 biff kernel: usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod
0x5e3/0x702) is not claimed by any active driver.
Apr 27 21:02:55 biff kernel: Vendor: WDC WD16 Model: 00JB-00GVA0
      Rev: 0811
      Apr 27 21:02:55 biff kernel: Type: Direct-Access
      ANSI SCSI revision: 02
Apr 27 21:02:55 biff kernel: Attached scsi disk sda at scsi1, channel
      0, id 0, lun 0
Apr 27 21:02:55 biff kernel: SCSI device sda: 312581808 512-byte hdwr
      sectors (160042 MB)

And /var/log/messages had this to say:

Apr 27 21:02:46 biff kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:03.3-5, assigned
      address 2
Apr 27 21:02:49 biff kernel: Initializing USB Mass Storage driver...
Apr 27 21:02:49 biff kernel: usb.c: registered new driver usb-storage
Apr 27 21:02:49 biff kernel: scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass
      Storage devices
Apr 27 21:02:55 biff kernel: sda: unknown partition table
Apr 27 21:02:55 biff kernel: USB Mass Storage support registered.

      The slug completely ignores it.

If there is a list of known compatible enclosures - I must have missed
      it in my searching.

      Thanks for any suggestions,

      Jim
