[nslu2-linux] nslu2 raid5 1.5TB grow fsck out of memory

      Hi all, i seem to have some truble with expanding my raid system

      according to the webside Ferg’s gaff- Growing a RAID5 array - after the
      grow, you have to first do a #fsck.ext3 end then a #resize2fs /dev/md0

      Now I am not able to do a fsck.ext3 -f /dev/md0 after the grow to 1.5TByte
      dew to a out of memory error on the NSLU2 slug - debian disk host.

      Now solving the problem is officious expanding the memory is the sollution-
      but this is a little difficult using the NSLU2 box.

      Solving this problem i can think of a couple of solutions:

      A) expanding the swap space
      i tryed that to a swap of 2,3Gbyte but fsck.ext3 still runs out of memory
      (please help)

      B) connect a linux laptop to the raid and run a fsck form that platform
      problem is i don not know how to import the raid5 array to the laptop
      (please help)

      C) changing the fsck application parameters not to use massive amounts of
      memory
      sorry i don't now how (please help)


      A little history:

      i have grown my original raid5 /3 - 500GByte disks/ on a nslu2 used as a
      library -
      to a /4 - 500Gbyte disks array/ The growing of the disks went well and i
      was able to use the raid during the build. After the build the raid
      /dev/md0 was disconnected automatically.
