      As a matter of interest, I tried doing the same with my Debian/NSLU2
      setup, also using Putty via SSH. The drive is a Western Digital
      formatted with ext3.

      bob@terminus: ~$ time dd if=/dev/zero of=/home/bob/ zeros bs=10240
      count=10240
      10240+0 records in
      10240+0 records out
      104857600 bytes (105 MB) copied, 11.8873 seconds, 8.8 MB/s

      Indeed.

        Hi Tomas,

        Thank you for contacting Linksys® Technical Support. I do apologize for the late reply.

        It is good to know that the beta firmware resolved the issue with the NSLU2 you have. Since this is still a beta file, we will wait for our Product Engineers to officially release it to the public.

        Thus, I will forward this recommendation of yours so they will have immediate action regarding the early release of this file and be included in our official website.

        Since you do not have technical concerns already, I will close this case then. After this case is closed, a survey will be sent. You can also give out comments and suggestions on the survey to directly let Linksys know about this.

        For more details and assistance on Linksys products, please visit our online technical support center at www.linksys.com/support and click on Ask Linksys.

        Sincerely,

        In which test is it slower?
