Unfortunately it's hard to work with measurements like "painfully slow".
We need verifiable numbers to see if it's the limit of the hardware or a
      software problem.

      Some questions:

      1) How many files are 1 one directory.
Big directories are a problem on certain filesystems and they are
      certainly a problem for samba.

      2) What are the mount options and what is the impact of fat32 for
      this problem.

      > i want it to work as a NAS, but it is too slow right now.

      The typical performance of a nslu2 is 3 mb/s and a directory
listing of 10000 files takes 23 seconds.

        Hi Tomas,

Thank you for contacting Linksys® Technical Support. I do apologize for the late reply.

It is good to know that the beta firmware resolved the issue with the NSLU2 you have. Since this is still a beta file, we will wait for our Product Engineers to officially release it to the public.

Thus, I will forward this recommendation of yours so they will have immediate action regarding the early release of this file and be included in our official website.

Since you do not have technical concerns already, I will close this case then. After this case is closed, a survey will be sent. You can also give out comments and suggestions on the survey to directly let Linksys know about this.

For more details and assistance on Linksys products, please visit our online technical support center at www.linksys.com/support and click on Ask Linksys.

        Sincerely,

In which test is it slower?
