Have unslung my Slug in order to run it as a file and print
      server.

The file server side is fine but am having trouble with the print
server side. Originally I was trying to print using the printer
connected through a 4-port hub with CUPS installed. In attempting to
isolate the issue I have reduced the config down to the following;-

Epson DX4200 connected directly to Port 1

In order to simply the issue I am now just using the shell cmd 'echo
test > /dev/lp{X}'. I have confirmed this character device has been
      chmoded to 777.

All my attempts to create device nodes to print to have been
unsuccessful and I have no leads left as to what major/minor code
to use. Would someone confirm that I should be able to send output to
the print device simply using echo test > /dev/{device}?

I have provided some details from various files to help those that
are kind enough to point me in the right direction.

      Regards,
      Alan

         Hello,

I have installed php 5 with ipkg install php on a DS101j

With no problem no error. All require packages succesfulled installed
I made also a ipkg update and ipkg upgrade to be sure all is uptodate.

But when I run php I get errors with :
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/opt/lib/php/ extensions/ xml.so' - /opt/lib/libdl. so.2:
symbol _dl_open, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference in Unknown on line 0

I did not find a clue on the nslu2 site , on various issues I have seen this errors but with no solution that I can use for my ds101.

        thanks for your help.

        Patrick

          Hi Alan,

          echo test > /dev/lp0

Does not work as a test for you.
I tried on mine, but do not know how to sent an CR / LF

Now the printer waits for this.
Solved it with sending a complete doc after it. Then my test appears as well
as the compete doc. ( 2 pages)

Hope this helps you a little.

            Cheers,

             Frank
