      web server in your NSLU2 PROBABLY isn't the best tool, but you CAN have custom HTML files served from there, easily...

      Add the following to your rc.local file:

      ln -s /share/hdd/data/html /home/httpd/html/user

      Then do a 'mkdir /share/hdd/data/html' and place your HTML files in that directory. They will be served a http://<nslu>/user/* (after a reboot). To avoid a reboot, execute the line manually....
