RE: Installing lighttpd and php-fcgi
- To get this running on a slug, install lighttpd with the command: ipkg
install lighttpd. This will put the important bits in the /opt
directory as the package is from the optware feed. Next, install php-fcgi.
Now, edit the lighttpd.conf file in the /opt/etc/lighttpd directory.
Remove the '#' on the line "mod_fastcgi" to enable the module. Make a
note of the server.document-root value so you know where to put the
files. Make sure that the 'server.port' is the one you want. Port 80
is the usual but make sure no other servers are using it too.
Finally, make sure the fastcgi.server is setup right. It is a ways
down in the file. My entry is:
#### fastcgi module
## read fastcgi.txt for more info
fastcgi.server = ( ".php" =>
( "localhost" =>
"socket" => "/tmp/php-fastcgi.socket",
"bin-path" => "/opt/bin/php-fcgi"
To launch it, use the startup script in /opt/etc/init.d. To launch it
automatically, you might need to move that script the /etc/init.d and
make links to it in the appropriate rc*.d directories.
Hope this helps,
