      Hi David,
I am using linphonec and my (derived) Yeaphone (see http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/HowTo/ConnectUSBPhone) for many weeks now without any performance problems whatsoever! It's version 1.4.1 running on SlugOS/BE.

Did you try different configurations in .linphonerc? You probably should disable all codecs except PCMU, PCMA, and maybe GSM.You could also try to disable the echo cancellation (echocancelation=0). So there should not be much left to hog the CPU. Memory consumption should be around 7-8% of the Slug's RAM.

      Hope you get it working.
      -Thomas

      Hi

I'm looking a SIP user agent for my slug (debian)

I want this SIP user agent can use my soundcard.

Asterisk seems to be only a PBX.

Linphone provide a command line version (linphonec), but the slug isn't

      powerful enought :

the quality of sound is so bad and linphonec uses 90% of CPU.

Do you known a light SIP user agent for my slug ?

      Thanks.

      David.

        Hi
I have always the same problem, but I've some information.
In the debug file, I can find this :

        ortp-message-bandwidth usage: audio=[d=83.8,u=4.3] video=[d=0.0,u=0.0]
        kbit/sec
        ortp-warning-alsa_read: snd_pcm_readi() failed:Resource temporarily
        unavailable.
        ortp-warning-Fail to read samples

I uses the sound card sound blaster live external usb with the alsa
module snd_usb_audio (patched and compiled to support the IR remote
        control provided)

I have no problem with sound and MPD.

        I will search ...

        David.
