Folks, is it possible to reset the disk password by using SerComm to reapply
If this is done, will it wipe the current data partition or only update the
I'm using Unslung 5.5 and lost my disk password. Big oops!
ForgotRootPasswd wiki page mentions a process for an earlier Unslung, but
which does not appear to work on Unslug 5.5 - as mentioned on the wiki.
I have tried to set the root password field as empty value by connecting the
disk to a laptop and updating passwd file directly.
I also tried seting it as the value found in the /etc/passwd file for root -
but still no joy, telnet throws me out each time.

Also, I have noticed that my slug no longer detects a disk if it is added
after reboot. That is to say boot with no disk, then add a disk - or boot
with 1 disk and then add a second disk.
After unslinging this was not the case, it would detect and disk would be
seen through web interface.
If I boot with disk attached then there is no problem, I can see my disk and
reach the data in the shares.
Many thanks for your help!
