      Yes - it is a FAQ - 2.0 hubs don't work well on Unslung <=5.5. This is not
      only storage devices, but any devices.

      Please add this to the FAQ if the last guy didn't do it.

        is, why would the USB 2.0 hard drive I also have attached to the hub
        work without problem, while the printer doesn't?

          work at all, but the kernel has a local crash and has problems assigning
          local addresses to USB devices. Like you, I've had success with one device
          connected to a hub, but not two. Check out the log as you connect the second
          device.
