Group Description

In a world fraught with ultra-processed foods, an anonymous industrial food complex, and fad diets amid a growing epidemic of diet-related disease, many are looking to the inherited nutritional wisdom of our ancestors for holistic well-being. This is a forum for those who keep kosher who are interested in the intersection of traditional foodways and the Jewish tradition to ask questions and share information (including resources and recipes). Topics include, but are not limited to: fermentation, sprouting, children's nutrition, nutrient-dense foods, sustainably farmed produce, and access to kosher meat, raw milk, and eggs from pasture-raised animals.

This group's general approach to nutrition is guided by the Weston A. Price Foundation. Two useful references on the topic of traditional foodways are Sally Fallon's Nourishing Traditions and Sandor Katz's Wild Fermentation.

If you are interested in joining this group, when you apply to join please share how you found out about this group and tell, very specifically, why you are interested in joining. The more information the better. We have had spammers in the past and do not admit new members casually.

The group moderators reserve the right to block any individuals who abuse this forum in any way.
