I want to improve NoteTab's dynamic arithmetic formatting, to improve
efficiency for ad-hoc calculations, and pretty-printing for readability.

      I'll look into AWK.

      Kind regards,

      Not the moderator,

but here are a couple of tips.

      1. The best likely groups are "ntb-scripts" and/or "ntp-clips".

      2. The one tool that immediately comes to mind is AWK, which can use regular
expressions in its patterns, and pipe its output (or accept piped input).

      3. While you can run NoteTab from a commandline in a shell, it opens a
WINDOW, which does not typically return anything other than an integer
number, and this only if you specifically CLOSE it with that feature.

Piping within NoteTab is far from pleasant.

Having said all that, perhaps if you provided some details to the clips or
scripts groups, of what specifically you wanted to accomplish, you might
find that NoteTab has a lot of different ways to skin a cat.

      Cheers,

      Eb
