      When NoteTab is invoked, it opens all files that were open at the time the program was exited. Fine.

      But it often opens too many files, including many that had previously been closed. What can be the cause of that?

        One reason it would open some that were previously closed is if
        NoteTab or Windows crashed on you without closing NoteTab
        properly so that it could write to the INI file (listing the
        currently opened files). Another might be is if you renamed the
        INI file with an exclamation mark in front of it and then did
        some more work including closing files. NoteTab would open at the
        point when you saved the INI file.

        In case you do not know the feature to reopen the open files is
        under the General tab in Options: Reload open documents.
