      Hey folks,

Anybody used an anchor tag lately, like a table of contents within the
same html file? Believe it or not, mine refuses to work.

      Here's the code:
      <a href="intro">Introduction</a>

      <a name="intro">Introduction to Using NoteTab Pro</a>
The following section of the paper introduces the main concepts of
      NoteTab Pro., etc.

The first tag will go live; the second will not.

Thanks for any help. Sorry to bother you all with something so basic!
      :-}

<a href="#intro">Introduction</a> You forgot the # sign. Check this out since you are looking at a structure like that. Open ReadMe.otl found in NoteTab's main folder. Click on Modify | Document to HTML | No Character conversion and then launch it in a browser. ;)

In my Outline Library I have one that converts an Outline to frames and builds hyperlinks for the basic [Topics] as well.

                    Thanks, Chris.

Yes, it's driving me farther around the bend...I used in-page anchors
quite a bit, back in '99. Then we converted the website to a frame-based
site, like everyone else, in 2000. (We're gov't, so always a little
                    late..)

I have thought our style sheets might be imposing a limitation, but have
been through them, to no avail. Have also tried the anchor in a separate
document, o/s of the style sheets. The <a name=> simply will not become
active. The <a href=> works fine.

All I want to do is build a small table of contents with links to
sections within the same html file.

Oh well, I think I may have to use some kind of workaround, maybe using
the TOC elements as navigation elements which link to sections in the
                    contents files.

That, or enter the href as a VERY long URL link down to the
contents.shtml file itself, basically driving the browser out and back
into the same page. Not very lovely.

                    Thanks for your encouragement!
