They fit me.  That's probably the first part of setting good goals.

I'd like to win the lottery but that isn't a likely.  I haven't even be playing lately.  Not likely even if I did though.

Started on the introductory materials for the Greek class last night and read the first book of the Iliad.  This is a Harvard created course and it is based upon exposure to source material.  Looks like we are reading Iliad and Odyssey and Hesoid's Works and Days along with a bunch of sample texts.  Looks like about six or seven for each of the 17 segments.  In English, I'm not making that mistake again.  I can probably get through the Homer but I have tried reading Hesiod before and It's like swimming through wet cement.  I wasn't kidding when I said it will take me all year to get through it.  Getting immersed into bronze age culture will be fascinating.  Maybe it will help me understand Republicans.  The first thing I have noticed from reviewing the intro material is that the cogs and springs that motivate action. the agents primary values, seem to be anger and revenge.  No wonder the Greek city states were always at war with each other.  Once they defeated the Persians they were left with each other to deal with.

I signed up for a course with edex on Greek culture which sees to be oriented around the Homeric idea of the Greek hero. I'm also going to try again to work upon Greek language but I'm not expecting much since I was never very good at learning languages.

I'm also going to augment walking, about  which is usually 30 minutes averaging five days a weeks, with some low impact stretching exercises.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and is looking forward to a wonderful New Year. Any New Years resolutions rolling around?
