      Here´s my translation.

      Kveðja

      Alan

Eftir það komu menn til þings. Er þar allt tíðindalaust. Þórður var löngum í
After-that people came to (the) Thing. All there is without incident. Þórðr was a-long-time in

búð Gests og talaði jafnan við Guðrúnu. Einn dag spurði Þórður Ingunnarson
Gestr‘s booth and talked constantly (if that‘s the right word
J)with Guðrún. One day Þórðr Ungunn‘s-son asked

Guðrúnu hvað konu varðaði ef hún væri í brókum jafnan svo sem karlar.
Guðrún what was-the penalty-for a woman if she were always in breeches just like men.

Guðrún svarar: "Slíkt víti á konum að skapa fyrir það á sitt hóf sem
Guðrún answers: „(One) has to impose (see skapa, Z3) such punishment for (the) woman for that in its degree (ie in equal measure) as

karlmanni ef hann hefir höfuðsmátt svo mikla að sjái geirvörtur hans berar,
for a man if he has a neck-opening so large that (one) would-see his bare nipples,

      brautgangssök hvorttveggja."
      grounds-for-divorce (separation) each-of-the-two.“

Þá mælti Þórður: "Hvort ræður þú mér að eg segi skilið við Auði hér á þingi
Then Þórðr spoke: „Do you advise me that I announce the separation (ie declare-myself separated) from Auðr here at (the) Thing

eða í héraði og geri eg það við fleiri manna ráð því að menn eru skapstórir
or in (the) district and (that) I do that with (the) advice of more persons (men), because people (men) are proudminded,

þeir er sér mun þykja misboðið í þessu?"
those who will seem to themselves (ie feel) offended (see misbjóða, Z1) by this?“

Guðrún svarar stundu síðar: "Aftans bíður óframs sök."
Guðrún answers a while later: „A reason (sök, Z4) of reticence (cowardice, timidity, lack of courage, úframr) waits (ie puts things off) until evening (ie too late, aptann).“

Þá spratt Þórður þegar upp og gekk til Lögbergs og nefndi sér votta að hann
Then Þðrðr sprang up at-once and went (on foot) to (the) Law-Rock and named for himself witnesses that he

segir skilið við Auði og fann það til saka að hún skarst í setgeirabrækur
declares himself separated from Auðr and gave (see finna, Z8) that as(the) reason that she put on a man´s (which man is not specified
      J) breeches (see skerast, Z8)

      sem karlkonur.
      like butch-women (dyke).

Bræðrum Auðar líkar illa og er þó kyrrt. Þórður ríður af þingi með þeim Ósvífurssonum.
(This) ill-pleases Auðr’s brothers and (but) nevertheless (it) is (stays) quiet. Þórðr rides from (the) Thing with them sons-of-Ósvífr.

En er Auður spyr þessi tíðindi þá mælti hún:
But when Auðr learns-of this news then she spoke:

      Vel er eg veit það
(It) is well I know that

      var eg ein um látin.
I was left (pp of láta) alone (forsaken)

Síðan reið Þórður til féskiptis vestur til Saurbæjar með tólfta mann
After-that Þórðr rode to (the) division-of-property west to Saurboer (Mud-town) with the twelfth man

og gekk það greitt því að Þórði var óspart um hversu fénu var skipt. Þórður rak
and that went (proceeded) unobstructed (ie without a hitch, greiðr) because (it) was unsparing from Þórðr about how (it) was divided in the-property (ie Þórðr was generous in dividing up the property). Þorðr drove

vestan til Lauga margt búfé. Síðan bað hann Guðrúnar. Var honum það mál
from-the-west (ie east) to Laugar many head-of-cattle (especially milch kine), After-that he asked for Guðrún (in marriage). That matter was

auðsótt við Ósvífur en Guðrún mælti ekki í móti. Brullaup skyldi vera að
easily-arranged with Ósvífr but (and) Guðrún spoke not against (it). (The) wedding should be at

Laugum að tíu vikum sumars. Var sú veisla allsköruleg. Samför þeirra Þórðar
Laugar at ten week of summer (ie when 10 weeks remained of summer). That feast was magnificent. Their marriage (lit: travelling-together), Þórðr’s

og Guðrúnar var góð. Það eitt hélt til að Þorkell hvelpur og Knútur fóru
and Guðrún’s, was good. That alone was-the-reason (see halda til, Z.iii) that Þorkell whelp and Knútr went (entered)

eigi málum á hendur Þórði Ingunnarsyni að þeir fengu eigi styrk til.
not  into legal-suit against (see á hendr, under hönd, Z1) Þórðr Ingunn’s-son that they received not support towards (it)

Annað sumar eftir höfðu Hólsmenn selför í Hvammsdal. Var Auður að seli.
(The) next summer after (the) people-of-Hóll had (their) cattle-keeping-at-(the)-shieling in Hvammsdalr. Auðr was at (the) shieling.

Laugamenn höfðu selför í Lambadal. Sá gengur vestur í fjöll af Sælingsdal.
(The) Laugar-people had (their) cattle-keeping-at-(the)-shieling in Lambadalr. That-one (ie that dale) goes west into(the) mountains off Sælingsdalr.

Auður spyr þann mann er smalans gætti hversu oft hann fyndi smalamann frá
Auðr asks that person (man) who tended (past tense) the-sheep how often he would-meet (the) shepherd from

Laugum. Hann kvað það jafnan vera sem líklegt var því að háls einn var á
Laugar. He declared that to be constantly as was (to be) expected because a lone ridge was (ie stood)

      milli seljanna.
      between (the) shielings.

Þá mælti Auður: "Þú skalt hitta í dag smalamann frá Laugum og máttu segja
Then Auðr spoke: “You shall meet today (the) shepherd from Laugar and you must say

mér hvað manna er að veturhúsum eða í seli og ræð allt vingjarnlega til
to me what (manner, by way) of men(gen plural) is (are) at (the) winter-houses (plural) or in (the) shieling and speak completely amicably towards (ie about)

Þórðar sem þú átt að gera."
Þórðr as you are obliged to do.”
