Dear HNBA Member,
We are excited to announce the HNBA's Annual Legislative Day and Capital Awards Dinner to be held in Washington, D.C. from Tuesday, May 11 through Thursday, May 13, 2010. All components of the event are free to HNBA members who advocate on behalf of the HNBA's legislative priorities during May 12, 2010. Please complete the online application and submit by no later than Friday, March 19, 2010. Space is limited and participation at this event is subject to availability. Legislative Day is a great opportunity for HNBA members to convene in Washington DC, meet with Members of Congress and advocate on key legislative and policy issues impacting the Hispanic community. This year's topics include: Support for Comprehensive Immigration Reform; Increase Compensation and Diversity among the Federal Judiciary and Ensuring an Accurate Census 2010. We will launch the 2010 Legislative Day by hosting a Welcome Reception on May 11, 2010. On May 12th, we will kick-off the day's event by hosting a Legislative Breakfast at the U.S. Capitol followed by a policy and legislative briefing. During the day, participants will meet with members of both the House and Senate and gather in the evening for the Capital Awards Dinner. This year's Capital Award Recipients will be announced in March 2010. On May 13th, participants are invited to a White House briefing by senior level administration officials (to be confirmed).
