Standard rope size for the N26 was 3/8. Dacron/polyester is fine for
sheets and halyards. You might want to go for a lower stretch
material for the main halyard. I find it takes the most abuse.
For spinnaker sheets I recomend 3/8 for winds above about 10 kts
true. For light winds I use 5/16 sheets. The spinnaker flies a lot
easier especially if the sea is sloppy and winds are light. I also
use a light shackle to attach to the sheets to the clews. It truly
makes a big difference when racing.
One has to remember that although thin lines are lighter they are a
lot harder to handle when there is a lot of tension on them. There
is no reason to go any larger than 3/8 for any of the running
