Group Description

A group of Seniors (55+) in the Niagara Peninsula that meet at 9:30 AM on the second Saturday of each month to discuss Computer related topics.

Newcomers are always welcome.

Our meeting venue is the Computer Lab at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Public Library. A voluntary collection at each meeting of a Toonie per member is for the benefit of the library staff. No other dues are asked.

Although our focus for a long time has been on the P.C. running Microsoft Windows we have begun to discuss Apple Mac computers as well since several members now use these. Much discussion these days relates to the Internet which is exactly the same from either computer.

Email use and etiquette is a popular topic as is computer security and free software. (We did mention that we're seniors didn't we?)

Also since most cameras these days are digital we frequently address the needs of members to store and handle their digital images on whatever computer they may have.

We are a friendly group and try to follow a round-robin style of meeting so that each member may present questions or new findings.
