Melissa Forehand and I spent the morning (8/16) birding parts of SW Tallahassee. The following may be of interest:

      Black Swamp Nature Preserve

      Little Blue Heron
      Ruby Throated Hummingbird - 2 females/juveniles
Yellow Billed Cuckoo - 1 heard
      Yellow-throated Vireo - 1 heard
Lousiana Waterthrush - probably the same one Gail Menk and I spotted two days ago. The bird was located in a ponded area right (west) of the trail just inside the gate.

      RW Williams Birding Trail

      Little Blue Heron
      White Ibis - 12
      Snowy Egret - 4
      American Robin - 1 immature

      Springhill Road Water Treatment Plant

      Cattle Egret - 50
      Pectoral Sandpiper - 60
Least and Semipalmated Sandpipers - lots in about equal proportions. The call on Semipalms relative to Westerns is based mainly on the relatively short stubby bill that was prevalent. They were also relatively clear ventrally with no spotting or streaking along the sides.
Lesser Yellowlegs - 25 - We identified no greaters
Dowitcher sp. 1 in alternate plumage
      Spotted Sandpiper - 1
      Barn Swallow - 2
