- To all Tallahassee Auduboners who know Elizabeth, I just got this news...
Elizabeth Platt was injured yesterday morning when she was struck by a car while she was walking across a street near her home. Her pelvis is fractured in two places. Although Elizabeth spent the day and night in Intensive Care at Tallahassee Regional Medical Center (the "new" hospital on Centerville Road and Capital Circle), she is being moved to a room in the orthopedic section this afternoon. She is in good spirits, and thanks those of you who have already sent good wishes and prayers, and for the basket of plants sent by the department. She knows that she will be hospitalized for a while, then at the Capital Health Rehab Center following that, but does not know how long for either event.
Thankfully, the car that hit her was not travelling at a fast speed; the person who hit her stopped immediately and phoned for help; fortunately, too, a Volunteer Fire Station was within a block, and paramedics were on the scene in minutes to assist.
She will have a telephone later today at the hospital and can be reached through the hospital operator.
