11469Re: [Newport Sailboats] replacing rpm meter?
- Jun 8, 2014thanks Martin I will be careful with removal of panel
Good news and some not so good
We had the tach replaced 2 years ago. The yard did the installation so
I cannot address it should be done.
AND the panel caught fire when the yard finished the project. So be
careful with the wiring. We were lucky that there was no damage to the
boat and the yard rewired the panel at their expense. Nice to have
everything new behind the gauges.

Subject: [Newport Sailboats] replacing rpm meter?
Hello fellow Newport owners, I am attempting to replace the rpm gauge
on my 87 N30 Mark 111. It has been broken since I purchased boat in
2010 its location is problematic since it’s a location where your knee
ends up when tacking from behind the helm. I have constructed a Lexan
cover to protect these gauges. Has anyone replaced their rpm meter? I
am going to remove the panel soon and don’t know how the original is
attached to the metal plate? would benefit from your experience. Cheers
Wayward 87’ N30 III
