Unfortunately, I am old enough to have known that the original Olympic bid was nothing but political flamboyance, and I have always been against the Olympics here.

Nobody has time to form groups.  But when it comes to voting time in May, I personally shall be voting against Ken Livingstone because of his inadequacy, and I don't care if it means I am ostracized by every pseudo-socialist Livinstone arse-kisser in London.    I'd rather be sent to Coventry by all the lovely Guardian Readers in East London than put up with another ten years of President Livingstone' s money-wasting dynasty.

        Hi guys,

It's not all that bad. Stratford secondary school have just received a new grant of £9000, through Helen McAuley's School Travel Plan management.

It is for getting more bikes and a shed for our other building, trips, maintenance, paying staff to support the bike club, tools and parts, purchasing books such as Cyclecraft, Cutting your car use, etc., expand after school activities where the School Travel Plan links with the curriculum (i.e a textiles cycle bad and clothing design project, part of which we gave a taster cycle training session) AND to set up a walking scheme.

Hopefully we continue with the road riding courses. So far appr. 160 students have participated and we have a waiting list.

I know these are small steps and we have a long way to go, but it is a start. At least those 160 students will have had cycling experience.

        Anna
