Subject: [S.Cyclists] The North London Marshes and The Lee Valley
To: firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com
This Saturdays' ride from Southwark Cyclists.
Departing Southwark needle 9.30
Taking cycle paths direct to Walthamstow Marshes, we pick up the Lee, departing from it now and then for stunning viewpoints and to explore the North London marshlands.
Heading upstream from Waltham Abbey we navigate cycle ways crossing meadows. Lunch at Hertford, probably, or maybe not, and a U turn takes us back the way we came, veering off to the New River towards Enfield, from which we follow roads back to London.
Mostly cycle path and canal side on the way up, the new river is slightly more problematic, as it is inaccessible from time to time. We'll skip the North London bit which is heavily guarded by numerous impassable gates, and then pick up the trail to the end once it has crossed under the North Circular.
Bring lights as dusk will certainly be chasing us home.
